Abir Aramin died on January 18th

Dear friends:

10-year-old Abir Aramin died on January 18th, 2 days after her skull was fractured. She was on her way home from school in the walled-off West Bank town of Anata when an Israeli Border Police jeep drove provocatively through the school zone. Eyewitnesses say the jeep was firing stun grenades and rubber bullets at the children when Abir dropped to the ground, bleeding from the head.

Abir was the daughter of Bassam Aramin, a Palestinian human rights activist and founding member of "Combatants for Peace." Adding insult to trauma, Bassam's friends from CFP had to advocate for the release of his daughter's body from the Israeli hospital in order to make it to her funeral.

Incredibly, Bassam's story is not unusual; disregard for human life is the norm under occupation. Please join us in sending this letter of condolence to Bassem Aramin and his family. We will arrange to have the letter and signatures delivered personally to Bassam and his family.

Groups and Individuals welcome. To sign the letter, click here:

Lynch Makes CNet Worst Web List

"There's not much to say about this placeholder site, except: It sure must be nice to be an incumbent." [click to see CNet gallery]

The primary has been over for some time now, but Stephen Lynch, our rep in Congress, is still not sharing any campaign information with voters. No sour grapes -- just interesting that others have noticed, and that Lynch's site is still blank as ever. Also a fun link in the CNet commentary to local blogger "unhappycamper".

BelowBoston.com Endorses Dunkelbarger

"Phil Dunkelbarger to represent the 9th Congressional District. For calling the incumbent to account for his support of the most misguided foreign policy decision this country has ever made, for recognising that government has no business interfering in the most private decisions that affect a family a la Terry Schiavo, for knowing that responsiveness to his constituents is the hallmark of a legislator, for supporting Net Neutrality, for his willingness to engage in a debate regarding these issues makes Phil Dunkelbarger an esy choice for Below Boston to endorse."

The Phoenix Endorses Dunkelbarger

"Congressman Steven Lynch enjoys a solid reputation as a lunch-pail Democrat, but Lynch’s solid support for President George W. Bush’s Iraq war and the Patriot Act, his consistent votes to make it ever more difficult for a woman to exercise her right to reproductive choice, his dodgy position on Net Neutrality, and his decision to validate the Republicans’ wild overreach of its authority in ordering the re-insertion of Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube compel us to urge Phoenix readers to vote for his challenger, Phil Dunkelbarger."

Open Challenge to Lynch for a Debate

More from the Blue Mass Group:

"Congressional candidate and Iraq war opponent Phil Dunkelbarger has challenged the man he calls "the Duckster" Congressman Stephen Lynch (a member of a Royal Chicken Coop to the right and in general an Iraq war proponent), right here on BMG."

Lynch Gets Official BMG Chicken

Some fun news from the good folks at Blue Mass Group:

"Incumbent Congressperson, and chicken, Stephen Lynch has joined incumbent (anyone notice a similarity) Secretary of State, and chicken, William Galvin in BMG's Royal Coop (stage right). Lynch apparently doesn't have what it takes to fulfill one of the most basic requirements for public office: the ability to defend one's positions in open debate."

Bob, posting last night at 2:08AM (I guess the chickens kept him up!). Click below to peek in BMG's Royal Coop:

Dunklebarger: Lynch plan for Iraq short on substance

"I urge anyone who might conclude the leopard has changed his spots to look at his actual voting record from October 2002 to June 2006. At every opportunity to adjust his course, no matter what the rhetoric, Stephen Lynch has opted to stay the course. And, while he talks, and talks, and talks, while doing nothing, hundreds more dead and thousands more maimed US soldiers, and hundreds of billions of US dollars, all become part of the statistics of this sad and senseless conflict, which has proven itself a catastrophic mistake of US foreign policy."
